I love a good party and an excuse for a Girls Night Out, especially when you get to wear a red dress and raise awareness for women’s health and heart disease. The 3rd annual Girl’s Night Out Go Red for Women is approaching fast and I am doing a Ticket Giveaway.
Objective: To raise awareness for the American Heart Association Go Red initiatives. Heart attacks and its symptoms are not always obvious to women. In fact what be perceived as “heartburn” or just some back pain may be an early symptom of a heart attack.
Other possible signs of a heart attack?
1. Extreme Fatigue in the days or weeks leading up to a heart attack.
2. Shortness of breath during normal daily activities.
3. Inability to sleep at night again in the days or weeks leading up to the heart attack.
What can you do to prevent heart disease?
1. Get your Vitamin D levels checked
2. Take a good quality Omega 3 supplement
3. Eat a diet rich in produce eating the rainbow daily
4. Know your numbers: Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Weight
5. Eat good fats such as raw nuts and seeds, coconut oil, extra virgin cold-pressed olive oil, avocados
6. Get 30-minutes of exercise at least 4 days per week
7. Get 7-8 hours of sleep per night and aim to BE to sleep by 10:30pm
8. Reduce stress or finding tools to help reduce it such as yoga, tai chi, prayer, aromatherapy, meditation, whatever method works best for you.

All for your health.
Sleep by 1030pm and eat Cold pressed EVOO (have been for a month now!)
That is fantastic Rucha, keep it up!
I didn’t realize your Vit D level had anything to do with heart disease. I never connected how a good night’s sleep would help either but, I’m sure it lowers stress.
Yes, low Vitamin D levels can lead to a whole host of disease and illness! You have to request this test from your doctor and can be life saving!
Thanks for the tips! I love your point of reducing stress, by finding the best way for you. For me, numbers 6 and 8 are the same!
oh stress reduction is huge and we forget to do this all of the time!
I am also surprised by the Vitamin D levels as it relates to heart disease. I am actually just starting to hear more about the importance of taking Vitamin D supplements … especially in the winter!
Hi Tiana, read the hyper link to Vitamin D, there are almost 40,000 studies to date that have been researched its importance.
Great blog, Jasmine! What a great event and thanks for the opportunity to win tickets!
Thank you Mandy, I hope you enjoy it all!
Would love to go! I remember seeing pictures from last year’s event and thinking – I need to go next year. Fun!
Wow! I’m so thankful for this article. I’ve been wanting to make some healthier changes, to take better care of myself, so I’m glad I now have a checklist! I wish I could make it this evening . . . it sounds like it’s going to be an incredible time! 😉 I look forward to hearing all about it! Have fun!! Hugs, Alisa 🙂
